For those looking for an adults-only dayclub, Palm Tree Beach Club is the place to be. Read on to learn of the various attractions in the MGM Grand pool complex area, from the lazy river to the bars, restaurants, and pool parties.

MGM Grand pool complex is a collection of pools, a lazy river, and whirlpools that surround more than 6.5 acres in the MGM Grand casino. Four regular swimming pools and three whirlpools act as huge hot tubs in the ample Vegas sun.

The environment is decorated in tropical landscape and greenery, which adds to the serene ambiance you feel the minute you step into the area. Six bars, including Mirage Bar, make up the pool complex’s main drink service, and Cabana Grill is the main in-pool restaurant to dine in.

There are more than 25 cabanas to rent fit for families and huge parties, whereas you can opt for the daybeds or pods for smaller groups.

It is important to note that the lazy river is the busiest part of the pool complex. Most guests visit the pool area for the relaxing swirl down the river more than they want to join in on the pool parties and dance to some live music.

If you are looking for a festive party scene, then the regular MGM Grand pool complex may not live up to your standards. Palm Tree Beach Club is the better fit for an adults-only dayclub atmosphere. On the other hand, if you want the most family-friendly pool affair or just a chill, relaxing stay in the whirlpools, then the Grand Pool Complex is where you want to be.

MGM Grand Pool Complex

The pool complex is located at the back of the hotel at the far end of The District. It may seem like a maze the first time you visit, but you learn to get around pretty quickly, especially when you stick together with your fellow guests.

There are lots of signs that show you the directions to various sites with ease. At the entrance, you will get to see the current pool hours, which are tentative and subject to availability depending on the season, events, and weather.

Palm Tree Beach Club, the adults-only dayclub beyond the MGM Grand pools, has replaced Wet Republic. It is marketed as a high-energy Las Vegas daylife venue with tropical styling, private cabanas, VIP daybeds, and top DJ entertainment.

Palm Tree Beach Club is open to guests 21 and older, with regular hours listed from Wednesday to Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm. Closing times and event schedules can vary, so check the official calendar before planning your pool-party day.

The MGM Grand main pool is separate from Palm Tree Beach Club and is open to all ages. There are also two saltwater pools measuring between 2500 and 3500 square feet.

Grand Pool lazy river is smaller than Mandalay Bay lazy river but still vast, covering a total length of 1,000 feet. The Lazy River goes up to 3.5 feet deep, which is substantially low compared to the swimming pools.

The loop meanders through the Grand Pool complex through a series of artificial fixtures like waterfalls, bridges, and the many tropical palm trees at the shores.

If you want an easier way to navigate the pool complex, then the lazy river is the way to go. It passes through multiple areas, including entrance and exit rails from the pool.

Like most pools in Las Vegas, you can only book a space in the MGM Grand pool complex for a select period of time. According to their terms and conditions, any guests who book a space, provided a cabana, daybed, or pod are expected to check in between 9 am and 11 am.

In case of any cancellations or delays, the guest is encouraged to contact the staff by 11 am to inform them of any such changes. Failure to do so will result in the release of the cabana, pod, or daybed at a 100% cancellation charge.

It is also important to remember that no outside alcohol, food, beverages, or glass items are allowed at the MGM Grand pool. If you bring your own tube, only circular tubes are allowed; tubes with mesh netting, novelty tubes, rafts, fins, flippers, pool toys, and coolers are not permitted.

The management reserves the right to add any prohibited items to its list, but currently, the unpermitted items at the MGM Grand pool include glass items, novelty tubes, weapons, fins, coolers, pool toys, flippers, illegal drugs, hookahs, smoking, and vaping.

Please remember that you cannot exceed the number of guests who occupy your cabana, pod, or daybed. Only ten people can stay/stand in a cabana, four guests for the daybeds and 2 for the pods.

Guests must rent another cabana/pod/daybed if maximum occupancy is exceeded. You also can’t book a specific cabana since the location is subject to availability upon your arrival at the Grand Pool Complex.

  1. we always get a cabana at MGM
Grand either at the Producers pool or Lazy river. it is well worth the money we have to stay in the shade and out of the hot sun so this is great. food is great usually we have breakfast and a late lunch to make up the price.
