Vegas is rightly famous for its pool scene, and for some visitors, relaxing on a sun lounger with a cocktail in hand is as much a part of the Las Vegas experience as casinos, nightclubs, shows, and restaurants.
However, Las Vegas can get chilly in winter. The good news is that several hotels still offer heated pools or at least one pool area that stays open during the colder months. That means you can still swim, soak, or lounge poolside even outside the normal pool season.
Some resorts keep large pool areas open year-round, while others only keep one small heated pool open during winter. Hours also change by season, weather, maintenance, and hotel occupancy, so always confirm with the hotel before booking if winter pool access is important to you.
Here’s our updated guide to the best heated pools in Las Vegas.
On-Strip
Many Strip resorts have heated pools, but not all of them keep the full pool complex open in winter. These are some of the best options.
MGM Grand
Open in winter: Usually at least one heated pool remains open, but the full complex is seasonal
The MGM Grand is one of Vegas’ most iconic hotels, and its Grand Pool Complex is one of the largest pool areas on the Strip.
The pool area covers 6.5 acres and features four pools, three whirlpools, waterfalls, cabanas, daybeds, poolside food and drinks, and the famous Lazy River.
The Grand Pool Complex is a much better experience during the main pool season, when the Lazy River and full resort-pool atmosphere are available. During winter, guests should expect a smaller setup, usually with at least one heated pool open while much of the complex is closed or reduced.
If your main reason for booking MGM Grand is the Lazy River, visit during regular pool season rather than winter.
Bellagio
Open year-round: A heated portion of the pool courtyard usually remains open
The elegant and luxurious Bellagio hotel offers a beautiful Mediterranean-inspired pool area with multiple pools, courtyards, loungers, cabanas, and a refined resort atmosphere.
Bellagio is one of the better Las Vegas choices if you want a classic heated pool experience in winter. The pool courtyard is heated and a portion of the area typically remains open year-round, though not every pool and amenity may be available during the colder months.
Current Bellagio pool hours are listed as 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, with cabanas and Cypress hours typically 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours can still vary by season and weather, so hotel guests should confirm before arrival.
Bellagio is a good choice if you want a calmer, more elegant winter pool experience rather than a party pool.
The Cosmopolitan
Open in winter: The Chelsea Pool is the main heated winter option
For a chic yet playful atmosphere, The Cosmopolitan is one of the best places to stay. The resort is stylish, central, and known for a pool scene that feels more modern than many older Strip hotels.
In summer, the Boulevard Pool is the better-known social pool, while Marquee Dayclub is a major draw for pool-party energy. In winter, however, the pool experience changes.
The Chelsea Pool is the main heated pool option at The Cosmopolitan during cooler months. It is more intimate than the Boulevard Pool and works better for guests who want a quieter pool day rather than a large summer party scene.
If you want winter pool-party energy, check whether Marquee’s seasonal dome or special winter programming is running during your travel dates. Otherwise, treat The Chelsea Pool as the more reliable heated-pool choice.
Mandalay Bay
Open in winter: One heated pool usually remains open, commonly Moorea Beach Club
With arguably the most impressive pool complex on the Las Vegas Strip, Mandalay Bay is a big draw for summertime sun worshippers.
The pool area is spread over 11 acres and includes a wave pool, lazy river, lagoon-style pools, bars, cabanas, daybeds, and beach-style lounging. During warm weather, it is one of the best pool complexes in Las Vegas.
Much of Mandalay Bay Beach closes during the winter months, including the wave pool and lazy river. However, Mandalay Bay typically uses Moorea Beach Club as its winter heated pool.
This makes Mandalay Bay a good winter option if you want heated water and south-facing sun, but it is not the same experience as the full summer pool complex.
The Venetian and The Palazzo
Open year-round: Heated pools are available on The Venetian and Palazzo pool decks
The Venetian Resort is one of the strongest choices on the Strip if heated pools matter to you. The resort currently promotes eleven heated pools across The Venetian Pool Deck and The Palazzo Pool Deck.
The pool areas are large, polished, and well suited to guests who want a resort-style environment rather than a single small winter pool. The Venetian Pool Deck features a sprawling aquatic oasis, while The Palazzo side offers a more relaxed luxury feel.
Pool deck access is reserved for hotel guests, and hours may vary by season. Still, The Venetian and Palazzo are among the better choices if you want heated pools that feel more substantial than a single off-season pool.
Wynn and Encore
Open in winter: At least part of the Wynn/Encore pool offering is usually open, but sections can close for maintenance
For top-end luxury, the Wynn and Encore Resort has few rivals. The pool areas are elegant, green, comfortable, and designed with the same polished service that defines the rest of the resort.
During peak pool season, both Wynn and Encore offer beautiful pool settings, cabanas, loungers, cocktails, and upscale service. During winter, the operating setup can change, and specific pools may close for annual maintenance.
Current Wynn pool information shows some areas operating while others may be closed for maintenance. For example, the Tower Suites Pool and European/Sunset Pool may have limited winter hours while the Resort Pool or Jacuzzi may be closed at certain times.
If you are staying at Encore in winter, confirm which pool area is open before booking. If pool access is a major priority, staying on the Wynn side may be more convenient when Encore’s pool areas are closed or reduced.
Park MGM
Open in winter: Heated pool access is commonly available, but specific pools and hours vary
Park MGM is a good on-Strip choice if you want a smoke-free resort with a more relaxed pool scene. It is not as dramatic as Mandalay Bay or as luxurious as Wynn, but it works well for guests who want a simple heated pool option in a central location.
The Park MGM pool area has multiple heated pools, cabanas, daybeds, and lounge chairs. During the main pool season, it is a comfortable and easygoing place to spend an afternoon.
In winter, Park MGM commonly keeps heated pool access available, though the specific pool, hours, and maintenance schedule can change. If winter swimming is important to you, confirm current operating details with the hotel before you book.
Resorts World
Important update: Not a reliable year-round pool choice
Resorts World is home to one of the newer pool complexes on the Las Vegas Strip, with several pool experiences, loungers, cabanas, and a modern resort layout.
During pool season, Resorts World is a strong option. The pool area is large, stylish, and works well for guests staying at Conrad, Hilton, or Crockfords within the resort. The main pool area, family-friendly zones, and elevated resort feel make it a great warm-weather choice.
However, Resorts World is no longer a reliable recommendation for year-round heated pool access. Its current pool FAQ says the pools close during the off-season, though some pools may be available weather permitting.
For that reason, Resorts World is better treated as a seasonal pool pick. If you are visiting in winter and specifically want guaranteed heated pool access, choose Bellagio, Venetian/Palazzo, Circa, Plaza, or another resort with a clearer year-round pool policy.
Downtown
If you prefer to stay in the downtown area, there are also strong heated-pool options.
Plaza Hotel
Open year-round: Heated pool and hot tub available for registered hotel guests
Plaza Hotel is known for its rooftop pool set on a 70,000-square-foot pool deck in downtown Las Vegas.
The pool itself is not as massive as the Strip’s biggest resort pools, but the deck has plenty of space, cabanas, daybeds, towel service, pickleball courts, and a downtown atmosphere that feels different from the Strip.
The Plaza is a strong downtown choice because its pool and hot tub are heated year-round. Hotel guests receive complimentary access, and the pool is generally reserved for registered guests.
If you want a downtown hotel with a reliable heated pool and a fun rooftop setting, Plaza is one of the easiest recommendations.
Circa Resort and Casino
Open year-round: Stadium Swim is heated and open all year
If you want to catch a big sports game while sipping drinks at a bar and sitting in a heated swimming pool, there is only one place to head: Circa’s Stadium Swim.
Stadium Swim has six pools on three levels, two swim-up bars, reserved seating, daybeds, cabanas, and a massive 143-foot screen. It feels more like a sports amphitheater with pools than a normal hotel pool.
This is one of the most reliable year-round pool experiences in Las Vegas. Stadium Swim’s winter program keeps the pools heated, and Circa promotes it as an all-year pool amphitheater.
Official Stadium Swim hours are currently listed as Monday through Sunday from 8am to 11pm, though winter hours and special events can vary. Unlike most hotel pools, Stadium Swim is also open to non-hotel guests with paid admission or reservations.
Rest of Vegas
Away from the Strip and downtown, several resorts also have heated pools or winter pool access.
Green Valley Ranch
Open year-round: Heated pool and jacuzzi available
Located in Henderson, Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino is a serene option away from the chaos of the Strip and downtown.
The resort pool area is known for its lush setting, sand-bottom beach-entry pool, cabanas, loungers, daybeds, food-and-beverage service, and laid-back Henderson resort atmosphere.
Green Valley Ranch currently describes its heated pool and jacuzzi as open year-round. That makes it a better current recommendation than some off-Strip resorts with more seasonal pool operations.
If you are staying in Henderson or want a quieter pool getaway, Green Valley Ranch is one of the best off-Strip heated pool choices.
Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa
Seasonal note: Great heated pool in season, but winter operations can change
Red Rock is one of the best resort choices away from the Strip, especially if you want a calmer setting near Summerlin and Red Rock Canyon.
The Sandbar Pool area has a resort-pool feel with cabanas, daybeds, chair-side service, a kitchen and bar, and plenty of space. Current pool hours are listed as 9am to 7pm, with the kitchen and bar open 9am to 6pm.
Older sources often described Red Rock’s main pool as heated and open year-round, but current seasonal messaging can change, and the resort has recently promoted specific pool opening/closing dates. For that reason, Red Rock is still a strong warm-weather pool choice, but it is not the safest pick if guaranteed winter pool access is your top priority.
If you are booking in winter, call the resort directly to confirm exactly which pool areas are open.
When Are Pools Open in Vegas?
Regular pool season in Las Vegas usually runs from March or April through October, depending on the resort and weather. During that time, most resorts operate their main pool areas, cabanas, bars, food service, and dayclub programming.
Winter pool season is different. From November through February or early March, many pools close or reduce operations. Some hotels keep one heated pool open, while others close the entire pool deck or operate only when weather permits.
Although people associate Las Vegas with punishing summer heat, winter can feel surprisingly cold. Daytime highs are often mild, but mornings and nights can be chilly, especially when the wind picks up.
If you visit in winter, expect fewer amenities, shorter hours, limited food and beverage service, and a quieter atmosphere. Pool parties and dayclubs are usually seasonal, with Circa’s Stadium Swim being the biggest exception because it stays active year-round.

Plenty of Heated Pools to Choose From
Las Vegas still has plenty of heated pools to choose from, but the key is understanding the difference between “heated,” “open year-round,” and “full pool complex open.”
For the most reliable year-round heated pool experience, choose Circa Stadium Swim, Plaza, Bellagio, Venetian/Palazzo, or Green Valley Ranch. For a strong Strip pool experience during the main season, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Wynn/Encore, Park MGM, and Resorts World are also excellent, but winter operations may be reduced.
If winter swimming is a major part of your trip, always confirm the exact pool schedule directly with your hotel before booking.
