SAHARA Las Vegas is still one of the best free-parking options on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip.
After SAHARA upgraded its parking facilities in 2024, some visitors wondered whether the resort would move toward paid parking like many other Strip properties. For now, the answer is still no. SAHARA’s current official parking page continues to promote free self-parking and free valet parking for guests and visitors.
That makes SAHARA especially useful if you are visiting the north Strip, staying at the hotel, eating at SAHARA restaurants, seeing a show, using the Las Vegas Monorail or looking for a cheaper parking base than paid center-Strip garages.
Here is the updated guide to SAHARA Las Vegas parking, including garages, fees, valet, oversized vehicles, EV charging, rideshare, airport transportation, car rental and the Monorail.
SAHARA Las Vegas Parking Garages & Fees
Self-parking and valet parking are still free at SAHARA Las Vegas for hotel guests and property guests.
SAHARA’s current official free-parking page says the resort offers free self-parking and free valet parking, with no parking fees. Its guest-services page also says parking is always free for hotel and property guests, whether you are staying for a few hours or a few days.
The resort has two main parking garages:
- West Garage: accessible from Las Vegas Boulevard
- East Garage: accessible from Paradise Road
West Parking Garage Entrance:
East Parking Garage Entrance:
Both garages are for vehicles under 6 feet 8 inches. If your vehicle is taller than that, do not enter the standard garages.
The old article said there was “no oversized parking at SAHARA.” That is no longer the most accurate wording. SAHARA’s current FAQ says valet services are available for non-commercial oversized vehicles, subject to availability and restrictions. If you are bringing an oversized vehicle, call the resort before arrival to confirm whether valet can accommodate it.
Self-Parking
SAHARA offers free self-parking in both the West Garage and East Garage.
The West Garage is usually more convenient if you are arriving from Las Vegas Boulevard or visiting the casino, hotel lobby, restaurants or Monorail station from the Strip side. The East Garage is usually more convenient if you are arriving from Paradise Road or want easier access from the east side of the resort.
The old article said the garages do not allow in-and-out privileges. Since SAHARA currently promotes free parking whether you are staying for a few hours or a few days, that old “enter and exit once per stay” wording should be removed. Visitors should follow the current garage signage and resort rules, but SAHARA is no longer presenting parking as a paid, single-entry structure.
Even though parking is free, do not leave valuables visible in your car. Use normal Las Vegas garage precautions, especially at night.
Valet Parking
SAHARA also offers free valet parking at both entrances.
The Las Vegas Boulevard entrance has the more classic porte cochère arrival experience and is convenient for the front of the resort. The Paradise Road side can be more convenient if you are approaching from the east side, the airport side or Convention Center area.
Valet service is free, but tipping is customary in Las Vegas.
Because valet availability can change during peak periods, large events, holidays or very busy weekends, self-parking may be easier if you are trying to get in and out quickly.
Oversized Vehicles
SAHARA’s standard garages have a 6 feet 8 inches clearance.
If your vehicle is above that height, do not try to enter the East or West parking garages. SAHARA’s current FAQ says valet services are available for non-commercial oversized vehicles, subject to availability and restrictions.
This means:
- Standard garage parking is for vehicles under 6 feet 8 inches
- Oversized vehicle valet may be possible
- Availability is not guaranteed
- Commercial oversized vehicles may not qualify
- You should call SAHARA before arrival if driving an RV, tall van, bus, trailer or other oversized vehicle
Other Transportation Amenities at SAHARA Las Vegas
EV Charging Stations
SAHARA added Tesla charging stations during its parking upgrades.
The charging area is located on the 7th floor of the West Parking Garage. Current third-party Tesla destination charging listings describe 16 Tesla Level 2 connectors with up to 10 kW output.
Tesla’s app may support some non-Tesla vehicles depending on adapter compatibility and charger rules, but do not assume every non-Tesla EV will be able to charge without checking first.
If EV charging is important to your visit, check the Tesla app or another charging app before arriving, because charger availability can change.
Airport Transportation
SAHARA still promotes LASxpress as an airport transportation partner.
LASxpress offers airport-hotel transfers that can be booked in advance. Pricing and service types can change, so check the current booking page before relying on an old “starting at” price.
Airport shuttle service can be useful if you do not want to rent a car or deal with rideshare pricing from Harry Reid International Airport.
Taxi, Uber and Lyft
Taxis can pick up and drop off guests at the porte cochère at the Las Vegas Boulevard entrance near the West Garage.
For rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft, drop-off is typically at the porte cochère, while pickups are directed to the East Garage entrance area.
Always follow the current app instructions and resort signs because pickup locations can change during events, construction or high-traffic periods.
Rent-A-Car Services
SAHARA offers Enterprise car rental services through the East Garage area.
Renting a car is not always necessary if your trip is focused only on the Strip, especially because SAHARA has a Monorail station. However, a rental car can be useful if you plan to visit Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire, Lake Mead, Mount Charleston or off-Strip restaurants.
If you plan to rent a car, book ahead and confirm the pickup location, hours, discount code and return instructions.
Las Vegas Monorail
SAHARA is one of the most convenient resorts for using the Las Vegas Monorail because the SAHARA Las Vegas Station is directly connected to the resort.
The Monorail runs 3.9 miles along the east side of the Strip, from SAHARA Las Vegas to MGM Grand. It is useful for reaching stations near Westgate, the Las Vegas Convention Center, Harrah’s/The LINQ, Flamingo, Horseshoe/Paris and MGM Grand.
Current Las Vegas Monorail pricing is higher than the old article showed. Current eTicket pricing includes:
- Single ride: $5.50 online / $6 full fare
- 1-day unlimited pass: $13.45 online / $15 full fare
- 2-day unlimited pass: $23.75 online / $26 full fare
- 3-day unlimited pass: $29.95 online / $32 full fare
- 4-day unlimited pass: $37 online / $39 full fare
- 5-day unlimited pass: $44.50 online / $47 full fare
- 7-day unlimited pass: $57.50 online / $62 full fare
The old article listed 24-hour, 2-day and 4-day prices that are no longer current. Use the Monorail’s official ticket page before publishing updated fare details.
Combining free parking at SAHARA with the Monorail can still be a smart budget strategy. Park for free at SAHARA, then use the Monorail to reach the Convention Center, center Strip or MGM Grand area without paying for multiple resort garages.
Is SAHARA Still One of the Best Free Parking Options on the Strip?
Yes. SAHARA remains one of the best free parking options on or near the Las Vegas Strip because it offers both free self-parking and free valet parking.
It is especially useful for:
- North Strip visitors
- SAHARA hotel guests
- People visiting SAHARA restaurants, bars, casino or shows
- Visitors using the Las Vegas Monorail
- Convention Center visitors who want a nearby Monorail connection
- Budget-conscious drivers avoiding paid Strip garages
The main drawback is location. SAHARA is on the north end of the Strip, so it is not the most convenient place to park if your destination is Caesars Palace, Bellagio, ARIA, The Venetian, Paris or MGM Grand unless you are willing to take the Monorail, rideshare or a long walk.
