Las Vegas Hotel Deals for Locals

Las Vegas is built for visitors, but Nevada locals can still unlock some useful hotel deals, staycation rates and resort perks if they know where to look.

Local offers change often. Some are year-round locals pages, while others are seasonal staycation campaigns for slower travel periods. The best deals may include discounted room rates, waived resort fees, dining credits, spa discounts, parking perks or attraction savings.

To use most locals deals, you’ll need a valid Nevada ID at check-in or when redeeming the offer. Some deals apply only to Las Vegas residents, while others apply to all Nevada residents. Always read the fine print before booking.

Here’s an updated guide to some of the best Las Vegas hotel deals for locals.

Best Las Vegas Hotel Deals for Locals

Caesars Entertainment

Caesars Entertainment remains one of the most important locals-offer programs in Las Vegas because it covers several major Strip properties.

The current Caesars locals page promotes an additional 15% off Las Vegas staycations for Nevada residents, with a valid Nevada ID required at hotel check-in.

Caesars has also promoted other locals perks in recent campaigns, including dining discounts, parking benefits, attraction discounts and entertainment offers. These benefits can change by date, venue and promotion period, so check the current Caesars locals page before booking.

The biggest advantage of Caesars is property choice. Locals can look for deals at Caesars Palace, Paris Las Vegas, Flamingo, The LINQ, Harrah’s, Horseshoe, Planet Hollywood, Nobu Hotel and other Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas properties.

If you want a Strip staycation with lots of dining, shows and attractions nearby, Caesars is one of the first places to check.

SAHARA Las Vegas

SAHARA Las Vegas continues to be one of the better properties to watch for locals and staycation deals because it often promotes no-resort-fee or value-driven room packages.

The old “Nevada locals choose your offer” details, with a waived resort fee option or $50 resort credit option, should not be treated as current.

The current SAHARA offer that is easiest to verify is its All-In room-rate promotion, which lists selected dates with no resort fees, a daily resort credit and late checkout. This type of offer may appeal to locals even when it is not limited only to Nevada residents.

SAHARA is a good fit for locals who want a north-Strip staycation without paying center-Strip prices. The property also has current restaurants and bars such as Maroon by Kwame Onwuachi, Balla Italian Soul, The Noodle Den, Uno Más, Chickie’s and Pete’s, CASBAR Lounge and The Tangier.

Always check the current SAHARA promotions page before booking, because the strongest deal may change from a locals-only offer to a general no-resort-fee staycation offer.

Station Casinos

Red Rock

Station Casinos remains one of the most useful hotel groups for Nevada locals because its properties are built around locals rather than tourists.

The Station Casinos Nevada Locals StaCation offer says locals with a Nevada ID receive best available rates and waived resort fees at participating properties.

Participating properties currently include:

  • Red Rock Resort
  • Green Valley Ranch
  • Palace Station
  • Sunset Station
  • Boulder Station
  • Santa Fe Station

This is one of the strongest local staycation offers because waived resort fees can make a real difference in the final price.

Station properties also work well for locals who want easier parking, movie theaters, bowling, bingo, restaurants, sportsbooks, pools and a quieter stay than the Strip.

M Resort Spa Casino

M Resort is another strong off-Strip choice for locals, especially residents in Henderson, the south valley or the Silverado Ranch area.

The current M Resort locals page promotes up to 30% off room rates and waived resort fees for locals who book directly. The resort fee may be charged during the booking process and waived at hotel checkout after a valid Nevada ID is shown.

M Resort is a good staycation choice if you want a resort feel without going to the Strip. It offers a casino, restaurants, spa, pool, entertainment and a more relaxed atmosphere than the major Strip resorts.

Because M Resort offers are subject to availability and blackout dates, check the travel window and terms carefully before booking.

Palms & Palms Place

A.Y.C.E. Buffet

Palms is a better current addition than some older locals-deal listings because its official locals page clearly promotes hotel, spa, dining, nightlife and pool perks for Nevada residents.

Current Palms locals hotel offers include 20% off room rates at Palms Casino Resort and Palms Place, with an active Nevada driver’s license required at check-in.

Palms also promotes 20% off spa services Monday through Thursday for locals, plus dining and nightlife specials such as Scotch 80 Prime social hour and Ghostbar locals specials.

Palms is a useful staycation pick if you want an off-Strip resort that still feels close to the Strip. The property has A.Y.C.E. Buffet, Scotch 80 Prime, Tim Ho Wan, Serrano Vista Cafe, a casino, Ghostbar and one of the more recognizable pool areas west of Las Vegas Boulevard.

For locals who want a resort-style stay without staying directly on the Strip, Palms is one of the easiest current offers to verify.

The STRAT

The Strat Hotel Las Vegas

The STRAT is now promoted by Visit Las Vegas as one of the current hotel-offer options for locals, and it also has a separate True Locals program.

The most useful everyday local benefit at The STRAT is parking. Locals with a valid Nevada license plate currently receive complimentary self-parking in the garage daily, while certain True Rewards and True Locals members can receive additional parking benefits.

The STRAT can be a good staycation option if you want Tower views, Top of the World, STRAT thrill rides, SkyJump, Atomic Golf nearby, and easier access to the north Strip or Arts District.

Hotel discounts may change by season, so check the current STRAT locals or promotional pages before booking.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has also been promoted by Visit Las Vegas as a current locals hotel-deal option.

Virgin can be a good locals staycation if you want a resort close to the Strip but not directly on Las Vegas Boulevard. It has restaurants, bars, a casino, live entertainment, a pool complex and a more modern off-Strip resort atmosphere.

The hotel’s locals promotions can change by season, so check the current offer page and terms before booking. Look especially for staycation offers that may include room discounts, resort-fee adjustments, dining credits or pool-related perks.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Fontainebleau is another newer name that now appears in Visit Las Vegas locals hotel-deal listings.

Because it is one of the newest luxury resorts on the Strip, Fontainebleau can be interesting for locals who want to experience a fresh property without flying anywhere. The resort includes Lapis Spa, restaurants, nightlife, bars, a large casino, BleauLive Theater and one of the most dramatic new resort designs in Las Vegas.

Locals offers here may be more seasonal than permanent, so check the current Fontainebleau offer through Visit Las Vegas or the resort’s own booking page before making plans.

This is not likely to be the cheapest local staycation option, but it can be one of the most appealing if you want a newer high-end Strip resort.

What Changed From Older Locals Hotel Deals?

Some older locals deals from previous versions of this article should no longer be presented as current.

The old MGM Grand-specific locals section is no longer strong enough to keep as a main recommendation unless a current MGM locals hotel page is clearly active for your dates. MGM Resorts still has many offers, but I could not verify the same old local hotel deal package in the current public results.

OYO Hotel and Casino was also removed from the main current list. The old article described a Nevada locals offer with a 30% room discount and discounted resort fee. Current OYO offer pages I found are focused on California and Utah resident promotions rather than a clear Nevada locals hotel discount.

This does not mean MGM or OYO never offer local deals. It means the old specific details should not be reused unless you verify them again before publishing.

Why Do Las Vegas Resorts Provide Discounts for Locals?

So why do some Vegas resorts offer promotional rates to locals?

The practical reason is that locals are a different customer group from tourists. Visitors from out of state may plan months ahead and expect to pay tourist prices. Locals, however, can compare options more easily, visit during slower periods and skip hotel stays entirely if prices are too high.

By offering room discounts, waived resort fees, dining perks, spa discounts or parking benefits, hotels can encourage locals to book staycations, eat on property, gamble, visit the pool, book spa services and bring friends or family.

Locals are especially valuable during slower travel periods, summer heat, weekdays and shoulder seasons.

How Do You Qualify for A Locals’ Promotion?

To qualify for most Las Vegas locals promotions, you need to show valid Nevada identification.

Commonly accepted proof includes:

  • A valid Nevada driver’s license
  • A valid Nevada state ID card
  • Other official proof of Nevada residency when accepted by the property

Some offers require a Nevada ID at booking, while others require it at check-in or when redeeming the deal.

For hotel rooms, the person booking the room usually needs to be the Nevada resident. Other guests in the room may not always need Nevada ID, but rules can vary.

For restaurant, spa, pool, parking or attraction discounts, each person may need to show their own Nevada ID. Always check the terms before assuming one local can unlock a discount for the whole group.

A Note on Promotions

Locals offers change often. A hotel deal that exists today may disappear, pause or be replaced with a different promotion next month.

Before booking, always check:

  • Travel window and book-by dates
  • Blackout dates
  • Whether resort fees are waived or still added
  • Whether parking is included
  • Whether a Nevada ID or Nevada driver’s license is required
  • Whether the offer applies to rooms, suites or only certain room types
  • Cancellation policy
  • Whether the offer can be combined with rewards-program rates or other discounts

Plenty to Enjoy for Nevada Residents

Las Vegas may focus on attracting visitors from around the world, but Nevada residents can still find worthwhile staycation deals.

For the strongest current locals hotel offers, start with Caesars, Station Casinos, M Resort, Palms, SAHARA and the current Visit Las Vegas locals page. Then compare the final total with taxes and resort fees included.

The best local hotel deal is not always the room with the biggest headline discount. It is the one with the lowest total cost, the best location for your plans and the perks you will actually use.
