MGM Grand Buffet: Menu, Prices & Tips

The MGM Grand Buffet is one of the remaining classic Las Vegas Strip buffets, but only for a little while longer. MGM Grand has confirmed that the buffet will permanently close after service on May 31, 2026, so this guide is now most useful for visitors planning to eat there before that date.

The MGM Grand Buffet is a brunch-focused Vegas buffet without many bells and whistles but with plenty of the essentials. Its biggest appeal is its accessible Strip pricing, American breakfast-and-brunch staples, and the fact that it still offers all-you-can-drink add-ons for beer, wine, mimosas, and well liquors.

Made-to-order omelets, breakfast classics, carving-station meats, pastries, desserts, and bottomless mimosa options are the order of the day. Read on to learn what to expect at the MGM Grand Buffet before it closes.

MGM Grand Buffet Location & Directions

MGM Grand Buffet 1

  • Address: MGM Grand, 3799 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
  • Telephone: 702-891-5686
  • Closure date: Scheduled to close permanently after May 31, 2026

Located in the MGM Grand Casino, the Buffet is easy to find. Starting from the MGM Grand front desk, walk through the casino towards the Avenue Café then turn left and continue through the casino.

Go past the Jabbawockeez Theater, and the buffet is on the right before the BetMGM Sportsbook.

Also, starting from the Strip, all you have to do is enter through the Las Vegas Boulevard entrance. Go past Centrifuge and BetMGM Sportsbook and the buffet will be visible on the left.

Tip: MGM Grand Buffet is scheduled to permanently close on May 31, 2026. If this buffet is a priority for your trip, visit before that date and check the official MGM Grand page before going.

The first thing you notice when you enter the venue is the outdated décor and simplistic ambiance. It is not a bad setting by any means, but you may start to miss the sophistication of other Strip buffets if you have been to the larger renovated buffets.

There are no thematic decors like those you would find at the Excalibur Buffet or the modern, more elaborate looks of the Bacchanal Buffet.

MGM Grand Buffet features warm lighting with lots of brown marble hues and cream undertones. Sparse plant vases around the stations give it a little warmth and a more open feel.

A gypsum ceiling adds depth and space to the buffet and features a classic look that is conservative but functional.

We are sad to see that the MGM Grand Buffet has lost its former glory. It lags behind other Strip buffets that offer more menu options, stronger theming, and more impressive ambience.

The buffet makes up for this by offering a wide range of brunch dishes at a lower price than many major Strip buffets.

This is cheaper than several premium Strip buffets such as Bacchanal Buffet and The Buffet at Wynn, but it is still more expensive than some of the lower-cost Vegas buffet options at properties like Excalibur or Circus Circus.

MGM Grand Buffet Overview

The MGM Grand Buffet used to be one of the most recognizable buffets in Las Vegas before other Strip hotels renovated their buffet spaces and before many buffets closed during and after the 2020 pandemic period.

Bacchanal Buffet is an example of a buffet that underwent a major makeover and came back as a more premium experience. MGM Grand Buffet, by contrast, has stayed closer to the older, simpler Strip buffet format.

Despite its traditional demeanor, the MGM Grand Buffet has remained one of the more accessible Las Vegas Strip buffets. It brings you many of the buffet dishes you expect from a classic Vegas venue in a brunch-only format.

In the past, the buffet had breakfast, lunch, and dinner sittings, but it now offers a limited brunch schedule rather than all-day dining. The current official schedule is Monday from 8 am to 3 pm, closed Tuesday and Wednesday, and open Thursday through Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm.

The buffet is currently priced at $32.99 Monday through Thursday, $38.99 on Friday, and $43.99 for Mimosa Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Prices can change, especially around holidays and special events.

Kids 10 and under currently eat free with the purchase of an adult meal, with one free child meal per adult meal purchased.

There are also all-you-can-drink add-ons. The AYCD Gold package includes beer, wine, and mimosas, while the AYCD Grand package adds well liquors to that list. MGM Rewards members may also receive one complimentary beer, champagne, or mimosa by presenting their MGM Rewards card to the buffet cashier.

This buffet is most famous for its selection of American breakfast and brunch food, so for classic brunch dishes, you’ll have plenty of choices. However, do not expect the same range or luxury level as Bacchanal, Wynn, Wicked Spoon, or Bellagio.

The dress code is casual, so you can wear relaxed resort clothing, within reason.

Since this buffet focuses on American classics, you can expect to find many breakfast and brunch favorites.

For fans of omelets, you may find made-to-order omelet stations where you can customize your order. You can also expect savory breakfast items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, ham, breakfast potatoes, and similar brunch staples.

Those with a sweet tooth will also be well catered for with staples such as pancakes, waffles, French toast, pastries, muffins, and other breakfast sweets.

However, if you’re paying to eat at the MGM Grand Buffet, you’ll probably want to be a little more adventurous than that – in which case, you should look around the carving stations, hot dishes, salad and fruit options, and dessert areas before filling your first plate.

For dedicated carnivores, there may be carving-station meats and other hearty brunch dishes. There’s also usually a deli or cold-food section where you can find simple buffet staples.

There’s a cereal section, but this is more of an afterthought since not many people are likely to be eating corn flakes in a Vegas buffet. Of more interest will be the pastry area or dessert area.

If you prefer to keep it healthy, look for fruit, yogurt, salads, and lighter sides. If all that wasn’t enough – and this being the MGM Grand, after all – there’s also a dessert area for you to finish your breakfast or brunch off with something sweet. If you have space, that is.

This is far from being a comprehensive list of everything you’ll find, and the exact food selection can change by day, season, and holiday menu. In short, it’s a buffet that has something for many tastes, but it should be approached as a straightforward brunch buffet rather than a destination luxury buffet.

While it might not match the sheer range of Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace or the creativity and sophistication of Wicked Spoon at The Cosmopolitan, it can still be useful if you want a simple, lower-priced Strip buffet before it closes.

Some Dishes To Look Out For

The specific food on offer may change and rotate with the seasons, but here are some of the types of items to look out for at the MGM Grand Buffet:

  • Classic savory breakfast and brunch items

Made-to-order omelets, eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausages, and other savory breakfast dishes are usually the safest part of the buffet.

Another one to leave space for is smoked salmon or bagel-style breakfast items when available, along with mac and cheese or comfort-food sides.

  • Classic sweet breakfast items

Don’t miss the buttermilk pancakes, waffles, French toast, or other sweet brunch items if they are available during your visit.

  • Pastries

The pastry area may include croissants, breads, muffins, pastries, and other breakfast sweets.

  • Carving stations

Look out for carving-station meats such as brisket, roast turkey, prime rib, or baked ham when available. Selection can vary by day and service.

  • Seafood

Older versions of the buffet were known for seafood items such as snow crab legs, shrimp cocktail, mussels, clams, oysters, crawfish, and sushi-style options. The current brunch selection can vary, so do not plan your visit around a specific seafood item unless MGM Grand’s current menu or special event page confirms it.

  • Desserts

You may find cheesecake, cookies, doughnuts, pies, parfait cups, mousse, brownies, and other sweets depending on the current setup.

  • All You Can Drink (AYCD)

There are not many affordable buffets on the Las Vegas Strip that still offer AYCD packages, which makes MGM Grand Buffet’s drink add-ons one of its more useful features.

The current AYCD Gold package is listed at $22.99 and includes beer, wine, and mimosas. The AYCD Grand package is listed at $26.99 and includes beer, wine, mimosas, and well liquors.

Mimosa Brunch is currently available on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 3 pm and is listed at $43.99.

A Classic Brunch Buffet With a Closing Date

While it might not be the largest or most refined option in Vegas, the MGM Grand Buffet still provides a wide range of classic breakfast and brunch favorites at a lower price than many premium Strip buffets.

The most important thing to know now is that the buffet is scheduled to close permanently after May 31, 2026. If you want one last meal at MGM Grand Buffet, plan it before that date and verify the current schedule before you go.

After it closes, nearby alternatives for buffet lovers may include The Buffet at Excalibur, The Buffet at Bellagio, Wicked Spoon, Bacchanal Buffet, and The Buffet at Wynn, depending on your budget and location.
